Destination Recommendation

Fiji: I have been to Fiji many times where I have experienced the village culture, small ship cruising and also the coral coast. The Fiji people are just so welcoming and I enjoyed snorkelling every day and visited different villages where I was able to speak with the local village school children and learn what they do on a daily basis.

Hotel Recommendation:

Emporium Brisbane – the lifts are a talking point with the laser designs featured and infinity pool is amazing which is on the very top of building looking all over Brisbane city and the Brisbane River. The Rooms are quite royal and elegant and worth the money to spend if you can afford.

Ship Recommendation:

Windstar – The exquisite taste of décor across the ship, welcoming staff, exotic food and the small ship cruising experience make this an absolute must.
Blue Lagoon Reef Endeavour – This is a small ship which has the ability to moor close to shore and jump off the ship daily. With only approx’ 30 cabins on board, you get to know everyone quite well.

My Tip for Holiday Planning:

I prefer to book well in advance so I can plan my trip to every minute of the day. Before I go, I implement a timetable with my whole trip outlining dates and excursions. I normally take any correspondence with me in case there is a mix up on anything planned. Most importantly I take a paper copy of travel insurance and what is covered, worked a treat in Canada when my husband had an accident in the snow and was able to ring insurance company with full details knowing I was covered for everything including upgrade of seating back to Brisbane. Make sure you advise you Bank of travel trips before leaving.

I wanted to enter travel after leaving school a long time ago and was encouraged to go to university instead. After owing two businesses and raising a family and more recently working in Education and Training for the last 19 years I decided to do want I wanted to do – enter the travel industry where my passion lies. I joined TTW in 2023 where I am work in the Product team and enjoying the work immensely. I have been on about 8 ships in my lifetime visiting a lot of countries but never Europe.
