Making the investment on a luxury cruise is a major one, and Discerning Traveller knows being able to book with confidence is all but essential during these turbulent times. We understand that over this unique period, booking a cruise or making any travel plans at all can seem risky, especially as Australians eagerly await for the Government to announce an official date for cruises to resume. Yet, there is no better time to look ahead and plan your next adventure once this pandemic is over than now. Discerning Traveller invites you to dream big, plan away and give yourself some time to truly unwind!
A number of cruise lines have created a Book With Confidence Policy, or something similarly named, to help take the worry out of booking your next cruise holiday. You can view the policy specifics below from a number of major cruise lines and book your cruise with confidence with Discerning Traveller now:
Azamara | Celebrity Cruises | Coral Expeditions | Cunard Line | Holland America Line | Hurtigruten | Oceania Cruises | Ponant | Princess Cruises | Regent Seven Seas | Seabourn | Silversea | Virgin Voyages
You have up to 48 hours before you sail to cancel and receive 100% of the amount paid in a Future Cruise Credit to be used for a new or existing Azamara booking departing on or before 30 September 2022 by 31 May 2021. The credit must be applied toward the cruise fare by 30 April 2022.
Book a cruise that departs before 30 April 2022 by 31 May 2021 and as long as you cancel your cruise at least 48 hours before your sail date, you’ll receive a Future Cruise Credit to the value of the amount you paid for your cruise. These credits can then be used on any sailing that departs before 30 September 2022*.
In case of deferral or cancellation, guests will receive a 100% future cruise credit to defer their cruise. Guests will also be protected against any rate increases on like for like itineraries and will have no fees or charges applied.
Book confidently and transfer your deposit payment towards any future Coral Expeditions trip in the event you are unable to travel on the cruise you originally booked.
You may transfer your Cunard booking to a new date as many times as you like before your final balance is due! If you are transferring to a higher value voyage you’ll be required to pay the difference, whereas if you’re transferring to a cheaper voyage you’ll be refunded the difference. If you are cancelling a voyage sailing on or before 01 October 2021, you will be charged a cancellation levy as a percentage of the fare paid. If you are cancelling a voyage sailing on or after 02 October, standard cancellation policy applies. If you are unable to cruise due to a positive COVID-19 test received within 14 days of sailing, you’ll receive a Future Cruise Credit to the value of your cruise*.
For Holland America cruises booked by 31 May 2021 and departing before 31 October 2021, cancel for any reason up to 30 days prior to departure and retain your cancellation fees in the form of a Future Cruise Credit with the remainder refunded to you *.

You can now have total peace of mind knowing that should you need to cancel, for any reason, you will not lose a dollar. For cancellations or postponements within 30 days, normal policies apply. If your cruise cannot operate you will also receive a full refund of all monies paid, whereas if you receive a positive COVID test you can either postpone your cruise for free or cancel for a full refund of all monies paid.
